Meet
Laura Madrigano
For much of my life, I’ve been drawn to writing, creativity, hand-sewing, and the quiet practices that help us reconnect with ourselves.
As a Designer, Creative Director, Artist, Writer, and Mother, my work is devoted to cultivating the qualities of what I think of as the healthy feminine—within ourselves, within our creative lives, and within the beautiful worlds we choose to create.
Looking back, I can now see those threads weaving through every chapter of my journey—from studying Fashion Design in New York City, to building a career as a Designer and Creative Director, to navigating my own healing journey with a health issue called SVT, and eventually finding a slower, more intentional rhythm creating from my design studio where live with my farmer hubby and our two beautiful children.
Creativity isn’t just about making beautiful things, it’s about creating the conditions where beauty, intuition, reflection, and authentic self-expression can flourish.
Today, that philosophy comes to life through everything I create. Through one-of-a-kind Altered Couture that honors craftsmanship, beauty, and feminine expression and Creative Direction, where I help creative entrepreneurs bring their inner vision into beautiful outer expression and even through the journaling practices, creative rituals, and reflections I share to encourage a slower, more intentional, and deeply creative way of living.
Through handwork, slow stitching, layered embellishment, and my love for preserving vintage fabrics and trims, I create clothing and accessories that honors qualities I associate with the healthy feminine: beauty, nurturance, creativity, softness, intuition, and restoration. In many ways, my creative practice mirrors my own inner journey of reclaiming those same qualities within myself.
A Few Things I Love…

- My beautiful sons
- Antique lace and heirloom textiles
- Beautiful dressing rooms and creative sanctuaries
- Vintage perfume bottles and vanity collections
- Fresh flowers on the kitchen table
- Quiet mornings before the rest of the world wakes up

- Helping creative women uncover the essence of their vision
- Creative conversations that inspire big ideas
- Slow mornings on the farm and merchandising my little boutique hidden in the garden center
- The quiet art of editing until only the essential remains
- Watching someone finally recognize the brilliance of their own vision
For more than twenty years I’ve worked as a Fashion Designer, Creative Director, Product Developer, entrepreneur, and creative mentor. My journey has also led me into coaching, holistic wellness, journaling, and personal development—all of which continue to shape my philosophy, The Art of Re-Creation.
Every chapter has taught me the same lesson:
Beautiful outer expression begins with inner nurturance and clarity.
Thank you for spending a little time in my world.
I hope something you’ve discovered here inspires you to create a little more beauty, protect your creativity, and reconnect with what matters most.
Because every woman deserves a sanctuary where she can reconnect with herself.
